Programme Aims:

The Master of Engineering (Civil) programme aims to cater for:

1. The candidates from the industry who are keen in continuous learning and advanced their knowledge in the field of civil engineering to deal.
with complex engineering problems.
2. Fresh graduates who wish to obtain an in-depth knowledge and capabilities in the field of civil engineering, thereby having better career prospects in that field.

Programme Educational Objectives (PEO):

The objectives of the Master of Engineering (Civil) programme are to produce:

PEO 1 – To produce graduates who is competent in practicing scientific principles in civil engineering industries.
PEO 2 – To produce graduates who is able to communicate well and engage in the activities that demonstrate leadership role.
PEO 3 – To produce graduates who is able to practice professional ethics and engage in lifelong learning for the betterment of the profession and society.

Programme Learning Outcome (PLO):

PLO 1 – Acquire knowledge in civil engineering and project management.
PLO 2 – Apply technical knowledge and management skills to devise solutions for complex problems in civil engineering.
PLO 3 – Demonstrate technical skills and systematic approaches to analyse related issues in civil engineering.
PLO 4 – Demonstrate communication skills and the ability to work as a team.
PLO 5 – Demonstrate skills to design, plan and evaluate situations using quantitative, statistical tools or graphical data.
PLO 6 – Demonstrate substantial responsibility in planning resource management, supervision, problem solving and managing work.
PLO 7 – Exemplify self-advancement through continuous academic and/or professional development to initiate and lead entrepreneurial
ventures/projects in civil engineering.
PLO 8 – Apply professional virtues and principles with strong commitment to ethical responsibilities in the evaluation and assessment of subject matters as pertain to the professional conduct in the field of civil engineering.
