Melaka is renowned for its cultural and architectural heritage, drawing tourists worldwide to experience its vibrant multicultural atmosphere. However, the influx of tourism has negatively impacted the development of local communities.
This thesis proposes a design solution to address these issues by creating an inclusive space that serves as a hub for different local activities. The design also incorporates a continuous linear garden, symbolizing the historical coastal line, to enhance the vibrant and dynamic nature of the community activities. By providing a welcoming environment, the proposal aims to foster a positive community engagement as well as sustainable and harmonious relationship between tourism and the local communities in Melaka.
