The project aimed to inject new life to revitalise the existing underutilised people’s park in Ipoh Old Town which belongs to the local community and intends to reconnect the town to the historical Kinta riverfront. The design proposal introduced health-care activities and community-based programmes particularly for the low-income community and cultural-based commercial activities as the income generator for the elderly to sustain their living. The core concept of this proposal intends to exert park as green connectivity to serve the immediate site forces as well as green infrastructure to filter and slow down storm water runoff. The resulting proposal serves as an urban catalyst to revitalise and revive Ipoh old town.
