In 2020, Board of Engineers Malaysia (or Lembaga Jurutera Malaysia) released a document titled BEM POLICY ON NAMING AND CONTENT OF EDUCATION PROGRAMMES at Dublin, Sydney and Washington Accord Level (https://eac.org.my/v2/circulars-guidelines/). In this document, BEM have stated its policy on how an engineering programme should be named in Malaysia. In following this document, UTAR set out to rename all its engineering programmes as per the policy. Accordingly, UTAR applied to Board of Engineers Malaysian, Malaysian Qualification Agency (MQA) and Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE) for the approvals. On late last year, we received all the approvals and the new names can be used from 1st January 2023.
