The BSc (Hons) Quantity Surveying meets the standards of quality comparable with international benchmarks established by the world’s leading professional body such as Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and the Board of Quantity Surveyors Malaysia (BQSM). We are also among the partnering universities signing the Memorandum of Coorperation (MoC) with Royal Institution of Surveyors Malaysia (RISM).


Department of Surveying

Welcome to the Department of Surveying. We were known as Department of Built Environment (DBE) before DBE expanded to Department of Architecture and Sustainable Design and Department of Surveying in 2013. The two taught programmes of our department are Bachelor of Science (Hons) Quantity Surveying and Master of Project Management. Both of the programmes under the department are fully accredited by Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA).

Success Stories

QS student swipes three awards at 12th RISM ISCU 2020

Lee Kong Chian Faculty of Engineering and Science (LKC FES) Bachelor of Science (Hons) Quantity Surveying student Lee Ke Bin beamed with joy when he swept three awards at the 12th Royal Institution of Surveyors Malaysia (RISM) International Surveying Conference (ISCU) for Undergraduates Year 2020. Lee walked away with Silver Award Best Paper, Innovative Paper Award and Potential Research Paper Award in Quantity Surveying (QS) division.



Extensive Exposure

Students undertake educational visits to various places of interest both locally and abroad, including art galleries, historical sites, factories, and more, to gain insights

Students participate in site visits, which teach them how to compose and analyse space, as well as understand the purpose and process of space creation.

Students have the opportunity to participate in annual gatherings organised by PAM, RICS and RISM providing students networking opportunities among peers and industry experts
