The Openet Cash4Code Competition is a programming competition organized by Openet, a company founded in Dublin, Ireland in 1999. The company builds real-time solutions for telecom operators and their customer base includes some of the largest telecoms companies in the world across 32 countries. Examples of Openet’s customers are Vodafone, Bell, Telus, AT&T, Verizon Wireless, among others.
Openet Telecom Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. has been operating in Kuala Lumpur since 2005. The Engineering Department in Kuala Lumpur plays a central role in the development of some of the company’s key products. In addition, the company’s tactical development team is also mostly based in Kuala Lumpur. Since 2013, Openet has taken TARUC’s ICT/CS students for industrial training placement.
Openet has been organizing their coding competition in selected universities in the UK for a number of years. The competition aims to find the brightest and best developers the country has to offer and challenge them to solve some tricky problems in a relatively short amount of time. 2015 was the very first time that Openet held the coding competition in Malaysia.
The inaugural and 2nd Cash4Code competition in Malaysia was held at Tunku Abdul Rahman University College (TAR UC).
Openet Cash4Code KL 2017 Competition
This year the Openet Cash4Code KL 2017 competition is a 3-hour programming challenge and is opened to students with JAVA programming background. The competition will be held at TAR UC KL Main Campus on 4th July 2017 from 8.00 – 3.00 pm.
CASH prizes to be given away are:
- 1st prize: RM4,096
- 2nd prize: RM2,048
- 3rd prize: RM1,024
- 3x Special prizes: 3 x RM512
All participants will receive a Certificate of Participant.
