What is OBE? – Concept
OBE (Outcome-Based Education) is an approach that focuses on the attainment of intended learning outcomes where students develop behaviors that are authentic to their discipline and are assessed holistically within the context of their learning. OBE clearly focuses and organizes everything in an educational system around what is essential for all students to be able to do successfully at the end of their learning experiences. This means starting with a clear picture of what is important for all students to be able to do, then organizing curriculum (outcome), instruction (activity), and assessment to make sure this learning ultimately happens. (Spady, 1994)

UTAR OBE Framework
PEOs (Program Educational Objectives) describe the expected achievements of graduates in their career and professional life a few years after graduation (3 – 5 years).
POs (Program Outcomes) refer to statements that describe what the students should have achieved by graduation time by addressing Cognitive (C), Psychomotor (P), and Affective.
COs (Course Outcomes) are statements that describe what students are expected to know and be able to perform or attain upon completion of a course.
An online system, named as EI System, is developed to monitor students’ achievement at course and programme levels.
